STALLED!!

They (the books and other people following the protocol) said it would happen but I thought it’s not going to happen to me!  Well, it has! Got on the scale this morning and it was exactly the same as yesterday. :-( I told myself to not get discouraged but I really like seeing the numbers go down every single day. It is almost addictive—I can’t wait to get on the scale each morning. Now I am not complaining about my weight loss, which is really significant for me – 8.8 pounds – and I am only 7 pounds away from my goal weight, which totally amazes me. I am just kvetching a little bit!
I have to be very careful, though, because my head has some crazy thinking going on.

For instance, I am used to selecting the smallest apples each time I eat one. Today, however, I found myself looking for the largest one and my voice said, it doesn’t matter. I am glad I was conscious enough to hear myself and then was able to change the voice to I am choosing to minimize (not maximize) what I eat today.
Interesting dream last night: I was telling someone how well I was doing on the HCG protocol and was going on and on about how I was following it perfectly. I thought about all the chocolates I had eaten (dark chocolate, but only in the dream) and convinced myself that it was okay and I had not cheated! I wonder if my dreaming about eating chocolates had anything to do with my not losing anything this morning. Since there is definitely such a thing as mind-body connection, it could be!
I read through some hints about what to do if you hit a plateau. Unfortunately, I read the hints after my lunch (shrimp, cuke, apple) and one of the suggestions is to cut out the shrimp to see if it helps the weight loss. Sigh. Here are some other tips that I am using:
Adding a glass or two of green tea.
Cut beef or buffalo out (I had buffalo yesterday and will not eat it again until I am losing again).
Leaving out the breadsticks (since I am gluten sensitive, I don’t eat the breadsticks anyway, so it’s not something I can cut out).
Add 2 T. apple cider vinegar diluted in water. I was only using 1 t. in water before my meal…..and only when I remembered (once a day at most).

If you want more tips on plateau breakers and daily loss rate maximizers (in the second phase—P2—the 500 calories a day phase) just let me know by writing your request in the comment section below.
